Greyhound Compassion Support to Ireland

"Greyhound racing brings nothing but misery to the majority of Irish Greyhounds." This was the opening line of an email Greyhound Compassion received from Limerick Animal Welfare (LAW). LAW's small team of helpers works hard to climb the insurmountable mountain of greyhound rescue work in Limerick. They attend the greyhound auctions and try to save the greyhounds for whom there is "no bid" and they rescue the greyhounds surplus to the requirements of the greyhound racing industry. Thanks to Greyhound Compassion's fund-raisers and donors, Greyhound Compassion contributes to veterinary and subsistence costs for the greyhounds in LAW's care.
Greyhound Compassion supports Dungarvan Rescue in County Waterford, Ireland, which is run single-handedly by its founder. All of them arrived in terrible condition and generally with mange, ticks, open wounds, broken limbs and infections. Dungarvan gradually brings them round to good health and tries to rehome them in England where they stand a better chance of finding a forever home than in Ireland. Greyhound Compassion provides funding for: dog food, flea treatment and veterinary costs.
