Greyhound Slaughter: The Irish Sun's Special Investigation

The Irish Sun's special investigation has uncovered the slaughter of unwanted greyhounds for €10 a time.  The dogs are killed with a bolt gun.

Interestingly, a track insider is quoted as saying that "this is the unseen underbelly of the sport which nonbody wants to talk about".

This Freedom of Information request/answer gives an idea of the order of magnitude of the greyhound wastage in Ireland.
