Greyhound march in London in November
Some people have asked about a peaceful demonstration following the recent press coverage of the Seaham slaughter of greyhounds.
Hope Rescue is planning a greyhound march for November in London. It will be under the general banner of "Stop the Slaughter". It is being planned for November because this is the earliest they are able to get the necessary permissions. Parliament will also be in session then.
A website is currently being set up where all the details will be posted, but basically there will be a march from Hyde Park to Westminster and a small delegation will go to 10 Downing Street to hand in a letter. There will then be a rally back at Hyde Park where rescue organisations can have stalls etc.
Hope Rescue has had fantastic support from rescues all over the UK and even Europe, as well as the public (and it hasn't even been advertised yet!) so hopefully it will be a huge event and one that the Government will have to take notice of.
