Rosie

Rosie's story is one typical of an Irish greyhound (latest photos pending). She is an ex-racer, who won a few pounds for her owner but then the inevitable happened: Rosie broke her leg. Instead of giving her the treatment and compassion she deserved, she was simply discarded. Her racing days were over, so she was now surplus to requirements. Rosie's broken leg was never treated. Imagine the agony she must have felt before Limerick Animal Welfare took care of her. Rosie will now have a permanent limp. She will have to wear a protective cover on her foot to prevent her scraping it when she walks. Surely Rosie deserved better than this. Was she not worth a few Euros at the vets?
Rosie is a sweet gentle girl.
Thanks to Greyhound Compassion's donors and fund-raisers, Greyhound Compassion has been able to pay for two months' care (€9,000) for Rosie and the other greyhounds accommodated by Limerick Animal Welfare
