GC helps Scooby get education off the ground

Scooby is continuing its aim of demonstrating to the local community that the galgos are not a throw away commodity and has started construction of its on-site education centre. One of Greyhound Compassion's supporters, a professional builder, kindly gave up his work in the UK in July 2007 and went to Spain to start the building the centre. Last year also saw the employment of Maria, Scooby's Education Officer and (much needed) Office Manager. Maria is a graduate in Social Education and brings a wealth of experience to Scooby. Greyhound Compassion contributes towards Maria's annual salary.
In addition, another GC supporter heard that her local college in Bedfordshire was renewing its furniture and was willing to donate the old furniture (hundreds of tables and chairs and some office cabinets) to a deserving cause. Within days of her recommending Scooby as a worthy beneficiary, we were loading the furniture onto the lorry of a Dutch Scooby advocate, who has kindly stored the load in Holland until Scooby can collect it in consignments each time dogs are transported to northern Europe for rehoming.
